The Surf Coast around Torquay and Bells Beach is one of my favourite photographic destinations. I often set off for a day trip to either fly the drone or take digital photos. Further down the road is Anglesea where I took this top-down drone photo of a wave receding from the beach. This shot is purposely minimal and lets nature take centre stage. The whale here is like a surfer or swimmer, contemplating his approach to the water. I drew the whale as a separate entity and then combined it with this top-down photo from Anglesea. The whales are purposely abstract with patterns you wouldn’t normally see on such whales, it is not meant to be realism. [The name and white border will appear as part of the final print, however the website watermark will not appear.]
Taken in Anglesea, Victoria, Australia.
