Whenever I get the chance I love to drive towards the Surf Coast in Victoria. I live on the Western side of Melbourne so it’s an easy day trip for me. Between Geelong and Torquay there are lovely farmland areas often producing crops. This field of canola has caught my eye several times over the years, and was a perfect background for my very first artwork for this site. The whale was drawn later as a separate entity and I then combined and edited the photo and drawing to what you see now. The whale is purposely abstract with patterns you wouldn’t normally see on such whales, it is not meant to be realism.
