“Turquoise”
“Turquoise”, a photographic print ready to hang on your walls. Here at Wild Whale Prints, we absolutely love the ocean and all it has to offer. Swimming in it, walking alongside it, floating on it, drawing it or taking photos of it! This is a recent drone photograph of the ocean near Mount Martha on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula. It shows the gorgeous turquoise coloured water in all its glory as it hits the rugged rocks on the foreshore. You will notice there are many other top down drone shots available here on our website, from bird life, moored boats, gorgeous colours, beautiful canola and natural abstracts that look like watercolour paintings. What’s your favourite way to enjoy the ocean? let us know in the comments section below or on our socials. “Shelley Beach”
This gorgeous little bathing Box is located in Portsea on the Mornington Peninsula. We have shown it before from above (a drone shot) which you can see here, it’s entitled “Surrounded”. We also did an artwork of this drone shot simply entitled “Portsea” which you can see here. This one is a DSLR shot, on a fairly gloomy day on the beach. We also have many other shots from the Mornington Peninsula on our website, so simply search for Mornington Peninsula or click here. It’s one of our favourite spots to shoot and the beaches in the area are just amazing! “Coastal”
Down the Mornington Peninsula towards Portsea are a few towns that have great views on both sides of the Peninsula. Blairgowrie is one of these small towns. On the West side is a lovely bay beach with bathing boxes, whilst on the East side is the more rugged ocean beach where many a photographer will head to catch the interesting rock formations. After finding ourselves at the top of a sand dune/cliff top late in the day, we just had enough time to set up the equipment and grad a few shots. This shot was taken at sunset facing away from the sun and soaking up the beautiful relaxing colours on the reverse side. “Cape Schanck Lighthouse”
Another great area we love to visit and photograph/draw is the Mornington Peninsula. The entire peninsula is full of interesting coastal views. In particular the area between Flinders and Cape Schanck has some remarkable landscape. At Cape Schanck there is a wonderful boardwalk which leads you down to Pulpit Rock. The area is full of reds, greens, charcoals and other lovely contrasting colours. If you visit on different days in different weather you will notice subtle (or sometimes less than subtle) differences in the landscape. This is a hand drawn illustration of the lovely Cape Schanck Lighthouse which was only the second built lighthouse in Victoria, built back in 1859. The views around the coast here are spectacular. “Mount Martha”
The Mornington Peninsula is full of wonders and in particular we love the natural beauty of Flinders, Cape Schanck and the surrounds. On the other side of the peninsula you will also find many a sensational beach stop. This shot, taken by drone is from one of these many beaches in Mount Martha. On a mild Winter’s day in July, preparation was in place for the beach to be ready for the upcoming Spring, Summer period. This tractor was raking through the sands, cleaning all the debris, it left some lovely lines and patterns in the sand. “Dromana”
This is a hand drawn artworks based on our “Lapping At The Doors” Photo Print available here. The Mornington Peninsula is full of wonders and in particular we love the natural beauty of Flinders, Cape Schanck and the surrounds. On the other side of the peninsula you will also find many a sensational beach stop. From Brighton to Portsea you will discover groups of these lovely bathing or beach boxes. The boxes in this artwork are found at Dromana, a gorgeous holiday town. The original photo was shot by drone on a rather windy day in Winter 2019. The colours of the boxes along with the natural colours in the waves and sand make for a bright scene. “Safety Beach”
Just past Mount Martha on the Mornington Peninsula is a small beachside town called Safety Beach. There are a couple of wonderful rock groynes between which boats head out to sea, a little further up the beach is this small pier or jetty. We caught it on a rather windy winters day recently and flew the drone for just a few minutes wary of it crashing into the ocean. We love where the land meets water and along the peninsula there is a lovely variety of different coastal scenes. “Portsea”
This is a hand drawn digital artwork. In September 2018 we had a short break on the Mornington Peninsula. One of our favourite spots is the ‘Millionaire’s Walk’. A public, but well hidden secret walk along the clifftops and beaches. It runs along the foreshore between Portsea and Sorrento and for much of the walk you feel like you are in the front gardens of the amazing mansions that adorn the seaside. Much of the walk you can take in the lovely beach huts spotted along the coast. We decided to drone the area and finished with a lovely shot called “Surrounded” which you can find here. This is a hand drawn artwork of this image.
