As a young child our family would do a lot of camping. In particular we booked in our site at Wilsons Promontory each January school holidays. Whilst there we would see plenty of wildlife with the various types of cockatoos of particular interest. As a child I would often wonder what it would be like soaring above the beautiful rivers, beaches and forests that make up the Prom. I’m sure it’s no coincidence now that we own drones and are able to capture this wonderful birds-eye-view. (Of course drones are not permitted in Parks Victoria controlled land). Recently we visited Tasmania and this gorgeous Yellow Tailed Cockatoo and many of it’s friends made an appearance. Whilst they were not so accustomed to posing for the camera, we did manage to get a few quick shots which then became the basis for this drawing. We also feature a Kookaburra in our collection, see “No Laughing Matter” here. [The name and white border will appear as part of the final print, however the website watermark will not appear.]
