“Underground”
Do you know where this is? Chances are you've been to Melbourne University at some point. It is the amazing underground carpark or South Lawn Carpark beneath the South Lawn in the middle of the Melbourne Uni campus in Parkville. The amazing arches created by the wonderfully curved beam structures create a marvellous atmosphere. But these columns aren't just for support of the lawn above. They encase pipes which enable soil from the lawns above to reach down deeper and thus allowing the trees above space to grow roots. Quite modern thinking from a structure from the early 1970's! The main entrance to the carpark even includes a 1745 door from a Dublin house and is framed with glorious Atlas figures which came from demolitions of other old Melbourne buildings. It's just a carpark but is now on the Victorian Heritage register and well worth a visit should you be passing. You can see our colour shot entitled "Parabolic" from the same location here. [The name and white border will appear as part of the final print, however the website watermark will not appear.] Poster Rails are available for this product.
