Did you know Victoria has a rich history in volcanic eruptions? Much of the state has evidence of the results from these volcanoes and their eruptions. Cambrian greenstone can be found at various locations across the state. In Pyalong and the surrounding McHarg Ranges, granite ‘sculptures’ are dotted everywhere across the hills, the result of thousands of years of erosion. They certainly make for some fantastic photography possibilities both by DSLR or drone. Like cockatoos or magpies, these whales are cruising serenely across the landscape. I drew the whales as separate entities and then combined them with this black and white photo of the Pyalong area. The whales are purposely abstract with patterns you wouldn’t normally see on such whales, it is not meant to be realism. The artwork is purposely dark. [The name and white border will appear as part of the final print, however the website watermark will not appear.]
